New car, new marriage, new garden, new baby, almost a new year

December 5th. Wow, this is hard to believe. I bought some poinsettias yesterday, they are my first Christmas decorations. I was undecided on if we were going to put up the tree this year, but I think I've decided that it should go up. We will be headed to Texas over Christmas. I am most excited about this because Adam (Ben's brother) and Kailey had their first baby November 29th. Emma ( the baby) is the first grand-baby for Ben and Adams parents. We will get to see Emma and her parents over the holiday.

Thanksgiving break was wonderful. Ben, Hank and I traveled to Atlanta to visit with my parents. It was a smaller gathering than usual, but it was still a great reminder of all of the blessings family brings. We arrived late Wednesday night, had thanksgiving diner on Thursday. Ben and my father built his new super version of a deck/party cooler. This ice chest has been in the drafting stages for quite some time. But thankfully my dad's Lisa ( the work shop) has all the tools needed to create the masterpiece. ( in Ben's opinion)

On Saturday, I got a new car. I sold my focus about a month ago, and then we traded in the Toyota at the dealership. I got the car that we've been wanting to the tee. A white Subaru Forester. Limited addition. It is really perfect.

Our Fall garden is in full swing. We haven't had a lot of production, but it's looking good. We caned 17 jars of cayenne peppers. This will be our Christmas gifts to friends and family. We opened and tasted our first can yesterday during our BBQ with friends. They are good, not too hot. My other plants think it's spring or something. I brought them in the house, and they are making flowers.

John and Mikel  were married on November 19th. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from this event.

Thanks for sharing. You certainly got my attention with the title. Could have said 'new niece'.
