The Gourds

Another great fall weekend. The weather could have been better. I got a cold from the cold.

Friday after work:
Mark and Kendall arrive.

We all visit through the night. You know the long visits where the conversation just flows and nobody can replay how a conversation traveled from topic to topic. These two are some of my favorite people. They are both doing very well and I'm glad. Friday night lasted a while...

Saturday:

1. Coffee and a walk around the garden.

2. A trip to the park. We had five people and five dogs. Five happy, free running, swamp swimming dogs.
The dogs.
Hank- ours of course
Sage- M & K's wolf hybrid
Saint- neighbors puppy, who we love dearly
Coco Bean- a John J dog
Boru- another John J dog. Poor Boru is completely blind. He liked to follow the dogs into the brier patches, trees, and off-roading. We tried to convince him to follow the humans, but stubborn dogs are stubborn even if they can't see. It was comical and sad to watch him be so happy to run freely into everything.

3. Back to the house for breakfast tacos. A  batch of chorizo, bacon, potatoes, egg, and cheese breakfast tacos were wiped up and scarfed up. yum yum.

4. We all then took a walk to Columbia park for the South Highlands Jazz festival.
A great line up.
Headliner= The Gourds. An Austin band that is originally from Shreveport. Webpage

5. Dinner at Tacomannia

6. bon fire at John's neighbors until wee hours of Sunday morning.

Sunday
1. Coffee again, porch sitting, and then load the dogs up for a trip to a different park.

2. Po-Boys from Shane's

3. Dark room ( thank you shutters) movie and recovery time.

4. Ben's four alarm chili. Thank you babe.

Basically a great weekend. Thank you Mark and Kendall for you visit.

Next weekend. John and Mikel  are married. Here is a picture from Mikel's Bachelorette party.
