Mountain View, Arkansas

Ben, Hank and I just returned from a weekend getaway to the Ozark Mountains. We left after a wonderful breakfast provided by Pete and Glen Morrison. We thank them greatly for the hospitality.

We spent Thursday, Friday and Saturday night camping with Tiffany, Casey and Gavin at an old house of their grandparents. What a nice place. We spent the days exploring the mountain, shooting guns, practicing our hatchet throwing, taking naps, and of course dining and visiting with family friends. It did get fairly cold during the night time hours, but of course the Morrisons lent us some quilts and we were very comfortable.

The main attractions included Friday night at John Taylor's music hall for some two stepping, jig dancing, and great fiddling. On Saturday we headed down the mountain to Bean Fest. A Bean cook off and folk and bluegrass music festival. The event was a true Ozark experience. I hope our first annual isn't our last. Hank enjoyed his free range running around like a wild man. He is tired. I am tired.

Our trip home was uneventful. I have already gone grocery shopping for the week, made my weekly newsletter for the kids and parents and am almost done uploading and documenting our vacation. Here is how Hank slept in the truck on the way home. He is so funny.

Before our trip out to Arkansas, I enjoyed some pumpkin carving with friends and neighbors. I bought a new rug for our living room. I did some lesson planning. I hope tomorrow the kids are not to full of sugar and sleep deprivation. We have too much to do. Well I need to get off of here and get some laundry started.

Welcome back to blogger! Thanks for the update and the pics. I may have to snag a few, when I finally get around to finishing my AR post. We had fun. See you again in a couple of weeks.
