Pregnancy update

Week 24. 16 weeks remaining until baby girl warden arrives. Due August 15.

I am so dissapointed with myself for not making a post until now. I hope to make another post before Miss Evelyn ( our baby girl ) arrives.

My pregnancy has been great. Not one ounce of sickness. I can't tell if I want to be pregnant forever or meet my baby more. I truly feel healthier than ever before. I am in the second trimester, and I have been told this pregnacy bliss will fade with the onset of hugeness. I can still see my feet, shave my legs, and excersise. I sometimes forget that I'm pregnant until the bowling ball in my stomache gets in the way of some usually simple task like bending or rolling over. I've been attending water arobics 2-3 times a week and completing additional exersies by walking Hank and gardening. Spring is definetly if full swing here in Shreveport. I love spring! I have only gained about 7-8 pounds. I will go to the doctor on May 4th to get a new weight. I will get an ultasound about two weeks after that. (at 28 weeks) I hope to video our ultrasound and share that with my family and friends.

The Baby should be about >2 pounds , 9-10 inches long. I am enjoying feeling her bounce around. She is very active. I think she likes hearing me teach Math, Science, and Social Studies. Ben has been a super suportive spouse and really also enjoys feeling and watching Evelyn move. I haven't been able to convince him to sing to her yet. I hum, but am completly unable to sing even to music.

School is in its final stretch before summer vacation. I am really looking forward to having a couple of months to get our nursery ready. We purchased a crib, and registered at Babies R us and Amazon.com.  The crib is still in a box in our living room and Ben is out of town this week. I have picked out colors, beding and have begun to organize for babys arrival. (I'll never finish this, but oh well) I am ready to make her room look more like there will really be a baby in our house at some point in the future.

Ben ran the Warrior dash on April 16th. He did a great job, I  hope to join in the fun for Warrior Dash in Austin Texas in November 2011

this highchair was rebuilt by my dad and refinished by my uncle. It has been in our family for many years. Lots of babies have used it, and my baby is next. In my opinion it looks more beautiful that it ever has. I am so glad it matches our house too.
My magnolia tree has it's first blooms. Since we've lived here my tree has never made flowers for me. Today, I have three with more to come. God is good. The colors in this picture match the colors I have chosen for my nursery. I am going with earthy pastel colors. I really like the stripped walls, I wonder if I will be able to fit it into my schedule?
Thank you for reading my short update on my happy progress toward motherhood. Please leave advise for how to stay calm and patient during these last 16 weeks until baby girl arrives into our arms. Also, how do I get the nursury finished without going insane with stress?

The nursery looks wonderful!! The chair, the walls, the cute stuffed animals (I spot Kermit!)- Evelyn is such a fortunate little girl to have such amazing parents.

Keep the posts coming, mommy-to-be!

Have a decorating party. The granny's painted my boys nursery for me (due to paint fumes). I made the curtians while they did the work!

Make sure to take time for you AND you and Ben. I sent to movies every weekend the 6 weeks before I was due. And couples dates! Evelynn won't know if everything is perfect and it will never be just you two again, so enjoy all of it and don't stress on the small things :-) Much love to you all!

You are doing awesome! I know it seems like you have so much to do before she gets here, but just do a little bit everyday and you'll have it all done with time to spare. Enjoy your time and take naps. We are so happy for you guys and can't wait to meet our new cousin! We'd love to hang out with you two some time! Love you! Amy
