Birthday in the mountians

Ben took me to Beavers Bend State Park, located in Southeastern Oklahoma. It was a little over a three hour drive from our home. We left on Friday. I took the day off which was another great b-day gift to myself. We cooked and visited by the fire each night, enjoyed some quite time alone (well we had Hank with us, but it wouldn't have been as great of a birthday with out him), watched some people fish trout in the crystal clear rivers, and took the longest hike ever for a 6 + month pregnant birthday girl. I still enjoyed myself despite all the complaining from mile 4-7.

We are fully aware that our lives are never going to be quite the same. In 3 months we will not be spending so much quite time by the fire in a mountain side cabin. We will still have these state park adventures, but with not quite as much sitting and taking it easy. We'll be chasing and entertaining a small warden offspring.

Speaking of offspring, Evelyn is as busy as ever. Sometimes I'm convinced she is trying to escape out of my belly button, or is practicing rock climbing up my ribs.  I return to the doctor on Thursday to drink my glucose drink and have the diabetes testing done. I will also be receiving a RhoGAM shot for my RH negative blood. I was told this was standard procedure for RH negative mothers with fathers that are RH positive. (blood types) However after some research, I am not so convince that it is absolutely necessary.  I guess I've waited a little long to question my doctor. Any suggestions?

In addition to our weekend trip, I was also was given as a gift from my thoughtful husband a HD video camera. I was wanting one of these to capture all the exciting moments that are to come. Both sets of Grandparents live states away, and I want to keep them fully updated and a part of our joyful times with Evelyn's growth. I have only played with it a little, so I am going to upload a video of our campfire, just for practice, not because I believe anyone cares. :)

Here are some pictures from our trip:

I didn't even know there were mountains in Oklahoma! Learn something new everyday. Happy Belated Birthday - glad you guys had fun. Looks like you're picking up my slack in the blogging department. I have no time to write my own, but am happy to read yours (and see your fun pics). Big hugs and happy last week of school, right?
