Evelyn Rose is one month old. We are all well. I am starting to feel the exhaustion. She is like a kitchen timer when it comes to her meals. Every two hours with rarely any exception. If she stays up late fussy, then I might get 3 hours out of her exhausted butt. She is holding her head up for short periods of time. She follows my face and voice and She coes and plays on the floor. The doctor said she is exactly in the 50% range. She has gained almost 2 pounds since birth and grown one inch. 9 lbs 3 oz and 21 inches as of yesterdays pediatrician visit. This makes me excited. I hope it means she will soon be going longer between feedings, I could really use some sleep.
Over the long Labor day weekend my parents and sister visited us. It was such a treat to not only have my family around, but to have help with Evelyn. My mom is so great with her, and my sister and I had some time to wander out of the house and do some shopping. I am in the midst of finally and hopefully very soon getting our front living space turned into our main living room. We currently use the back sun room which is hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It is also located right off Evelyn's room. I am predicting that at some point in our future Evelyn will go to sleep and Ben and I will sit up alone and want to watch a movie. I don't know if I'll ever be able to stay awake through another movie, but people tell me such a time will come.
To get that room to my satisfaction I'll need to put up blinds and curtains, Ben needs to make our entertainment center, I need/ WANT a chaise either attached to a new couch or stand alone. Ben wants a lazy boy that reclines enough to sleep in. I imagine I'll paint some too. I'll also need some new decorations and tables/Ottoman. The sun room is going to turn into a classroom and playroom. We don't have a lot of room in our house, and I see it better used for playing and learning. I want to paint a chalkboard on the wall, add a desk, a TV, a computer station, and storage or space for her toys.
I am also anxiously awaiting my photos from the photographer who did Evelyn's newborn photo shoot. They should be super cute and in my hands by the 22nd of September.
Ben, Evelyn and I are attending a tennis party tomorrow. This should be interesting I'll blog about it.
Here are a few pictures from the weekend.
