Homemade Halloween Costume

My little pumpkin

Today I made Evelyn's first Halloween costume. I chose a pumpkin because that was my first costume, and I thought it would be easy to make. It only took an afternoon, so I guess that wasn't too hard. I didn't think about how to EASILY get the costume on and off. Although a zipper or Velcro would have increased the difficulty of this project. As of now it takes two one to hold her up and one to pull the costume up like a sack of potatoes. It's tight but once it is over her middle it should stay. It only has to last a night or two right?

Here is how it went
gathered material then measured for the straps.

then I measured, (should have measured twice) for the stomach piece.
Then I attached curved panels, which I latter stuffed after closeing and attached the bottom cuff. Before I closed in the bottom I sewn on the eyes and mouth. Stuffed with pillow stuffing from one of our pillows Hank destroyed. "Thanks Hank. "
She'll wear brown pants for the big night. !!!!! love it!!

now i'm working on her hat. I got the idea from  this website,

And her first Halloween was a sucess. Now we are ready for November. She will be three months old very soon.
