Family update

It has been way to long since my last blog. I don't really know where to begin.

Thanksgiving
Our family traveled to Texas for this holiday. It is usually one of my favorites, but it was kinda tough not being able to see my parents. We saw a lot of family, but I am really missing my own. We spent the first night with Ben's parents. The drive to Texas is a little to long for miss Evelyn. She does really well considering it is a 7 hour trip with her. She gets fussy after three hours. Even after I feed her, she does NOT want to get back in the car seat. I don't blame her, I didn't want to either. Then when we get there, her sleep schedule was a wreck.

Our visits with everyone were really enjoyable. I didn't get many pictures.

Emma, Evelyn's cousin had her first birthday while we were there.

We were also able to visit with Mark and Kendall before heading down to my aunts for our Friday Thanksgiving.

After Friday, our plan was to attend Hayes Carl concert in Gruene,TX and leave baby with Grandparents. Evelyn had other plans. She wasn't taking a bottle well, and the traveling really messed up her sleep. I envisioned hours and hours and hours of screaming so I stayed behind with her. Ben and I did however have some time to walk around and shop before Evelyn and I headed back for the night.

The rest of the Thanksgiving vacation was very relaxing. It was definitely nice to not have to rush home. Ben didn't return to work until Wednesday.

Living Room Update
We have been working on our living room really since we bought the house. I have been trying to find inspirations and money to get it done. I finally decided we needed to move our family room out of the sun room as it is not climate controlled. It is way to hot in the summer, and cold in the winter nights. So we are turning it into a playroom. It took us a while to pick paint colors. This first picture shows the many choices we painted swatches of. Then the final colors. Epic and Dakota Trail. Two toned and I think its great.

I ordered my furniture on October 21st, yes OCTOBER. It arrived today. Dec 10. Well at least some of it did. The couch is still being hand sewn by children I'm sure. Just joking. I don't know why it was delayed, but the furniture store said it would be another couple of weeks. My curtains come in hopefully Monday, so I'll post pics of that then. I love the color and feel of it the chaise. I'm a little bummed it doesn't hide the door more. I'm planing on putting something between the chaise and that wall anyway. Ben got his lazy boy in a while back. Hank above is enjoying the box. And here is some pictures of the new furniture.

So there will be a couch attached to the chaise in the future. Today I got busy on my Christmas decorations and I am loving it.

Ben made this ladder for me. I'm going to spray paint it sparkly red and then hang Christmas cards and decor from it. Idea from http://www.pintrest.com/.

Thanks. Merry Christmas.

Lots of stuff going on! The matching baby camo pjs are just way too cute. I hope you get to GA soon to visit your folks. Can you and E go on your own? I know its not the same as being there with your hubby too, but it's better than nothing. Hang in there! We are looking forward to meeting Evelyn once we are all settled and back in TX. I was in ATL this weekend visiting Shannon and Kelly. I got all turned around at one point while running some errands in PTC and I ended up on Hip Pocket! Drove by your old house. Seems like forever ago that y'all were there. You guys sure have come a long way since then.
